WCB Occupational First Aid Level Three
This is a ten-day, 70-hour course. Participants receive a 2-year certificate after successful completion of a WCB administered external exam and after submitting a medical certificate. This course covers of the skills in the Level 1, Level 2 and Transportation Endorsement courses and adds more time to develop confidence and competence in the essential skill areas.
Participants will be able to:
- Triage patients according to the rapid transport category model
- Perform 2 operator CPR
- Stabilize protruding eye injuries
- Provide treatments for penetrating chest injuries
- Immobilize lower limb fractures and dislocations
- Manage limb-threatening injuries
- Rule out spinal injuries by conducting range of motion tests
- Perform multi-person lifts for transport
No prerequisites. Minimum age 16 years
WCB STATES: "A person must be least 16 years old to qualify for a Level 1, 2, or 3 certificate and in a workplace that requires a Level 2 or 3 attendant, the person must be at least 19 years old. If the attendant is under 19 years old and holds a Level 2 or 3 ticket, he or she may provide treatment under the direct supervision of the unrestricted first aid attendant on site."
